Title: "Clogged"
Year Completed: 2009

Quilt Description: Created with materials usually sent to the landfill in an effort to reduce my impact on the planet. Depicts loss of wildlife and eventual death of the ecosystem as trash clogs up waterways.
Materials: Cotton fabrics, plastic trash bags, beads, trash, toothbrush, empty spool, cardboard, candy wrappers, mesh onion bag, metal screw, etc.
Check out Preserve Products to learn about products made with recycled materials and how to recycle your number 5 plastics like yogurt cups, toothbrushes, etc.
Techniques: Machine Pieced. Machine Applique. Hand Quilted. Seams were pressed with wood iron (non-electric) whenever possible. All embellishments were attached by hand. No fusible interfacings or stabilizers were used in this quilt.
