Jeweled Rain Quilt Title: "Jeweled Rain"

Materials: 100% Cotton Fabrics, Embellished with Beads and Yo-Yo's.

Techniques: Hand-Appliqued, Machine Pieced, Hand-Quilted. No fusibles or adhesives were used in this quilt. Embellishments are individually sewn on. Sleeve on back to hang (rod not included). Signed and dated on back by artist.

Title: "Simplicity"

SOLD: Private Collection

Details: Created for Fiberart For A Cause to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Materials: 100% Cotton Fabrics, Photo Transfer Fabric. Stamped using VersaCraft Fabric Ink. Embellishments made of natural materials: shells, wood, old bauxite pipestone beads.

Techniques: Machine Pieced, Hand-Quilted. No fusibles or adhesives were used in this quilt. Embellishments are individually sewn on.

Clown Quilt ******************************************

Title: "I'm So Happy I Could Cry"

Size: 10 1/2"w x 14"h

Details: Created for the Salvaged Threads Exhibition using repurposed fabrics. Inspiration for this piece started with an old clown doll I had when I was a kid and a bag of vintage fabric pieces I purchased from an estate sale. The only "new" fabrics are the circus border print and backing fabric.

Materials: Recycled Clothing, Fabrics from Estate Sale, Frayed Fabric Fibers (Hair), Embellished with Old Buttons, Beads and Trim. Eco-friendly 50% PLA fiber/50% cotton batting.

Techniques: Hand-Appliqued, Machine Pieced, Hand-Quilted. No fusibles or adhesives were used in this quilt. Sleeve on back to hang (rod not included). Signed and dated on back by artist.

Peace When Quilt ******************************************

Title: "Peace....When"

Size: 10"w x 13"h

Details: Created for the Salvaged Threads Exhibition using repurposed fabrics. Inspiration for this piece started with a "flawed" peace sign from Peace of Your Heart quilts. I embellished with beads to cover the problem areas. Constructed primarily of items normally thrown away like a purple mesh onion bag, non-skid rug bagging leftover, swatch sample of upholstery fabric (cream background), etc. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace" by Jimi Hendrix.

Materials: Upholstery Swatch, Recycled Clothing, Discarded Peace Sign, Onion Bag, Embellished with Beads from an Estate Sale, Non-Skid Rug Backing Material, Selvage Fabric Edges.

Techniques: Hand-Appliqued, Hand-Quilted, Hand-written Quote and Hand-Stamped. Beads are sewn on. No fusibles or adhesives were used in this quilt.

Tie Quilt ******************************************

Title: "No Jacket Required, But You Will Need A Tie"

Size: 11"w x 10"h

Details: Created for the Salvaged Threads Exhibition using repurposed fabrics.

Materials: Upholstery Swatch, Recycled Clothing, Doily, Ties, Old Pillowcase. Embellished with yo-yo's and trim leftover from other projects, buttons from an estate sale. Eco-friendly 50% PLA fiber/50% cotton batting.

Techniques: Hand-Appliqued, Hand-Quilted. No fusibles or adhesives were used in this quilt.

Folded Flowers ******************************************

Title: "4 Flowers"

Size: 15"w x 14 1/2"h

Details: Created using Rebecca Wat's Folded Flower Technique. The center embellishment, a decorative clay piece is made by artist Katie Turner.

Materials: Cotton Fabrics, Polyester Batting, Embellished with Beads, Pearls, Yo-yos, Clay Pendant.

Techniques: Machine Pieced, Hand-Quilted.

Lake George Small Quilt ******************************************

Title: "Lake George"

Size: 10 1/2"w x 14 1/2"h

Details: This piece is not a "traditional" quilt as it is only one layer with no batting or backing. It was inspired by a photograph taken during a visit to Lake George, NY.

Materials: Cotton Fabrics, Twig Holder, Embellished with Metallic Thread and Unraveled Fabric Fibers.

Techniques: Fusible and Raw Edge Applique, Hand- Stitching, Machine Piecing, Hand-Drawn Dock.

Soar Mini Quilt ******************************************

Title: "The Impulse to Soar"

Size: 7 1/2"w x 14"h (excluding trim)

Details: This piece is not a "traditional" quilt as it is only one layer with no batting or backing. It was created just playing around with some fabrics. I've always loved that quote by Helen Keller who is not only an inspiration, but a distant family relative.

Materials: Cotton Fabrics, Silks, Velvet and Woven Fabric. Twig Holder. Embellished with Beads, Vintage Button, Trim, Yo-yos, Various Yarns and Fibers.

Techniques: Hand-Stitched.

Erie Canal Small Quilt ******************************************

Title: "Erie Canal Park - Fayetteville, NY"

Size: 15 1/2"w x 13"h
Details:
This piece was inspired by a photograph I took at the Erie Canal Park. As often happens, I first do a watercolor painting and then will create the same scene in fabric.

Materials: Cotton Fabrics, Polyester Batting, Embellished with Wood Beads.

Techniques: Needle Turn Applique, Machine Pieced, Hand-Quilted, Embroidered Flowers.
